No, it seems ok to me so far. I'm a big fan of raising big from the BB with a few limpers already in there (when you don't suspect a limp-reraise), so I like your play with 66 there. It's a really good way to steal chips from weak limpers.

What's really bad is that the post gets cut off after hand 40, so we miss all the interesting 5-way action.

One question from the first 40 hands: The hand where I had KK (Hand #16) I think I should have just called the short stack re-raise to entice a call from the third player. I think this would be a low risk way to win an extra 350, as he is likely to call, especially when I show some weakness by just calling and not re-raising. Instead, I think I half-panicked and played it overly safe in order to get heads-up on the short-stack. I think I may have been thinking that a raise is a good play in order to try to get all the chips in pre-flop, but that had no chance since the third player just called my initial raise to begin with. Like I said I think I half-panicked. What do you think?

OK, I glanced through this, and it looks pretty good for the most part.

The only hand I have a huge problem with is the all-in on Hand #34, which was already mentioned.

Hands I'd have played differently:

Hand #5 - raise the river to 200 or so.

I'd have tried a 3BB steal on either Hand #24 or Hand #25 (though not both).

Hand #28 - Min-bet on the flop. It'll take down the pot a high perecentage of the time. Fold to a raise, and you have 8 clean outs if you're called.

Hand #24 - Your raise should be to 600 here. You risked your whole tournament for no reason. Granted, you don't want action, but it's still unnecessary.

So, BB 200 and 2 limpers to you in BB w/ 66, how do you play it if not all in? I do not like a 3xBB raise to say 600 because if I get a caller then most flops are awfully scary to me.

I was worried about the flush here. There was no betting until the river when the 3rd flush card fell, so I thought it was safest to just call.

Do you mean Hand #31 (AQ all in PF)? I think this is an excellent observation! I find myself leaving many tournaments before I should for this very same type of play. So, would you fold to an all in re-raise?

Oops, I meant #34 (the 66 hand).

And I didn't even notice the flush got there on hand #5 when I skimmed over it. That makes calling a lot more palatable.

Just as a general observation, I thought you weren't stealing enough. You got a big stack with the kings (hand 16), then didn't do anything with it for the longest time. cnubeermenow kept limping in -- I would've put him to the test right away and popped him. Especially the hand right after the kings...J2 is a perfect hand to try and steal, because it's the world's easiest fold if you're reraised and you still have a good-sized stack.

I agree that the raises on hands 31 and 34 were way too big.

FWIW, I don't mind the all-in on #31 at all - you're close enough to that magic 10BB number. I'd have made the same raise.

BlackAces, why don't you like that one - what the plan if you're reraised? What if you're called and miss the flop? I think you want to see all 5 here, and if you run into AK, so be it - them's the breaks.

Maybe I put in such big raises pre-flop in hands #31 and #34 because I do not feel my post-flop play is strong enough. For hand #34 (the 66), I do not know any other way to play it. If I raise to say 600 and am called, I feel I am dead post-flop unless a 6 hits. And for hand #36, I guess I would not want to be the victim of a stop and go if I get no help on the flop, so the all-in takes away that possibility and I am not too afraid of a caller. I figure pocket pairs or AK at that stage would re-raise all in anyway, and I do not see folding to a re-raise w/ AQ.

This is just my thinking, and I am writing it not to defend myself but to seek alternative viewpoints and playing styles that are better than mine.

Looking at it again, I missed the fact that the big stack was in the SB. So yes, I probably do go all-in there. There's only the SB to worry about anyway, as the BB has next to nothing left, and can't hurt me. Frankly, I'm amazed he folded.

The reason I was thinking of a standard raise was that I would hope that SB would make a stand with a hand worse than mine, reading me for a possible steal on the button.

I wouldn't have been as willing to go all-in there, as one of your opponents has shown the ability to limp with big hands (the TT in hand 17). But again, if you don't feel your postflop play is good enough, this is an OK play.

I assume you meant 31...see my above post as to why I might not go all-in with AQ in this spot, albeit not against a stack as big as the one you faced. Also, I don't think there was anyone at your table capable of a stop & go. They seemed a bit passive to me.

That's good. I'm starting to reply to people's posts for that same reason, given that I haven't gotten to play much lately.

(Ah, the life of a newlywed...we can't all have wives like Thunder Keller, although mine has been pretty good about the whole poker thing.)
