Discussed this with a friend today and we had wildly different opinions. What is you gender, age, minimum age of someone you would date, maximum age of someone you would date?

Me: male, 29, 24, 35.

Everyone else?

I wouldn't date a freshman in college, and I wouldn't date someone who was graduated from college. Then again I've been with the same girl for 2 years so none of this really matters.

For dating, I'm a little more picky, just because there's more commitment so the age has to be a little closer than if you're just hooking up with her. It makes things easier when your situations and mindsets are more similar. If the question was what's your age range for hooking up with someone, it'd be a lot broader. I mean, in some extreme cases I might be willing to hook up with a 17 year old if she were a) mature enough to make a decent decision about whether or not she wanted to and b) gorgeous. As for the top range, I actually have hooked up with women in their late 20s/early 30s (very rarely, and I personally don't know how the hell it happened either), but I wouldn't be unwilling to go older than that.

I'm 33 and my girlfriend is also 33. I think your info is probably average for men (5 yrs older/younger). But I also think that as men get older the lower limit goes down and the upper limit does too. If you're a 50 year old man, it would not be unusual to seek someone between 30 and 55.

You are 26 years old and you would really consider dating someone who is a freshman in college?

What could you possible have in common with this person?

not that i frown on this at all, its just not something i see most people doing.

I agree with you there. I don't think I could ever conciously put a solid "maximum" age limit because who knows, I could find a 40 year old sweetheart that takes my breath away...

but if i was actively dating...wait, i am now. super. i think i'd be looking for girls in my age range. if a woman told me she was 28, I probably wouldn't make an effort to see if anything could come of it

PoBoy321

+/- 3 years? That's not bad. I mean, realistically, you're a sophomore/junior in college, how much are you going to have in common with a senior in high school? I guess I've known some pretty cool high school seniors, but then you run into the whole "oh my god, I'm dating a college guy" thing, but you know what they say. High school girls are good 'cause you get older, they stay the same age.

Because if you're a freshman girl in college you are probably not looking for a relationship, most relaitonships I know of that were started by freshman failed because the people just wanted to go out and have fun and be single and free for the first time in her life.

The are just starting out meeting people and will inevitably be incredibly bored with you once they realize they have about 30 more guy friends they can choose from.

I wouldn't want to be wrapped up in some sort of thing like that, instead you'd be better off with just hooking up with naive freshman girls who have only drank 5x in their whole life and can't say no once they get in bed with you.

Edit - All of these opinions were not formed due to a failed relationship freshman year, btw.

well almost all of my girlfriends have been younger than me. i guess i always have this fear that i'm some sick pervert who's a cradle robber. when i was a senior in high school, i almost started dating a freshman, but she actually decided against it because i was leaving for school in a couple months. she WAS fairly mature for her age though.

yeah, most 19 year old girls I find annoying, but that doesnt mean they all are. There are also lots of hot 19 year old girls, and that factors into the equation /images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I was 18-20 all the chicks I wanted to date that were my own age, were all going out with older guys (25-29), I couldnt wait till I got that old, because I knew there was some reason older guys were getting the younger chicks. Now that I'm older I realize what it is. All the girls who are my age, are now either fat, married, or have a kid(s), so you gotta go for the younger ones if you want one who isnt suffering from one of those 3 afflictions. That and with knowledge and experience its incredibly easy to get a young girl interested in you. The problem with that tho is most young girls (18-21) are [censored] annoying and stupid.

Ideally I'd like to meet a girl who is like 23ish, old enough to be experienced and not annoying, young enough to hopefully not have shat out a kid/been married/let herself become a giant slob.

There is a mathematical equation to determine this:
Where PB=(GF/2)+8

Where Permissible Booty = (Geezer Factor divided by two)+eight.

For example I am a 32 your old male which means that the youngest woman I could have a relationship with is 24.

To answer the question- M, 32, 21-33. Despite what the math tells us, Sklansky would hate this, I still think that once you are over 21, you can date anyone older than 21.

tolbiny
11-29-2004, 01:24 PM
Dude-
If you are 20, and get a shot with a 28 year old,
DO NOT PASS IT UP!!!
Actively pursue that [censored]. Older women generally have
1. Money of their own from working, and will take you out places and [censored] half the time.
2. Less drama- or well they are better at hiding it from experience of driving guys away.
3. Much more experience in bed- frankly you are unlikely to realize what a woman can actually do to you untill you stop screwing grils.
4. A higher sex drive- women hit their sexual peak later in life, in their late 20's to early 30's.

Things to watch out for.

1. some of them are starting to get desparte for kids/marrige. This is scary as hell- run.

2. Time constraints- they often have a lot more going on in life than a college girl and you have to be willing to accept that you can't both skip class and pound the headboard on any given tuesday.

otherwise hit up the older women at least once.
