I'll be in AC in a few weeks. Curious what ur thoughts are on the top 3 casinos to play in and why. If one is fishier than another, please let me know. I'll be staying at the Borgota only because my brother says it's the best casino, but I'm more than willing to play elsewhere if there is a better casino in AC.

Borgata, Taj and Trop are the only real places to play. Some of the other casinos have tiny poker rooms filled with rocks and regulars -- stay clear of them. The limit games at all three are as soft as they come, up to and maybe beyond the 10-20 level. Taj is loud and dirty, Trop is dark and only a little cleaner, and Borg is a nice room, but the wait times can be ridiculous. I go to the Taj most often because I rarely have to wait more than 20 minutes for a seat and because my wife gets comp rooms at Showboat so I don't have to go outside.

Borgata the best Poker Room than Tropicana. Trop has cheap tournaments. Borgata has few hour wait for $3/$6 games

Play at the Borgata. It's arguably the nicest and if you play > 8 hours you get a poker room rate that is much less than the standard charge. Sun-Thurs.

Borgata is the best, hands down. Taj is a not-that-close second. The games at Borgata tend to be more loose-passive, while the Taj games are loose-aggressive. A few suggestions/hints:

1) If you're going to the poker room in the evening or anytime on a weekend, expect to wait a while to be seated.
2) If/when you break to grab something to eat, don't eat at the Call Grill in the poker room. I never met a meal there I liked, and that's something I rarely say. It's worth a quick trip upstairs to one of the other places.
3) Head to White House Subs on Arctic & Mississippi (only a few blocks from Caesar's/Trump Plaza).

>8 hours? At what limit? There is usually a limit cap. How do you get the discount?

And expect longer wait times at White House than at the poker room ...

You have never tasted anything better than the meatball sub.

The tropicana has become my favorite casino in general. They had a good poker room with alot of tv's. Sure the drinks arent as good as the Borgata (same could be said about the servers...) But the players are decent and there's less of a wait than at the borgata.

They also have alot of great bars and restaraunts in the Trop, including a newly added Irish Pub, imported directly from Ireland!

On Sunday thru Thurs. if you play 6 hours you get a room for $39.99 playing any limit. I play $3/$6 and always pay only 40 bucks. If you play 4 hr you pay like $60 for a room. It must be within 24 hour period

Funny, I haven't had anything I didn't like there :0) They make a great cheesesteak imho.

I brought home a whole White House special for dinner tonight. The best sub for the money. I love all the nostalgic photos on the wall.

Excellent recommendation.

I can't imagine there's a nicer poker room in all of the states than the Borgata..
