View Full Version : Post-flop too loose...can I tell from these stats?

Hi all -

I'm playing party $0.50/$1.00, and I have a feeling that I'm just way too loose on the flop with marginal hands. Here are my stats (based on only 404 games, but I want to nip this thing early in case I'm blowing money post flop)...

VP$IP: 23.02% (93 times out of 404)
Pre-flop: 412 actions, 9.22% raise, 14.56% call, 7.52% check, 68.69% fold. (aggression of 0.63)
Flop: 169 actions, 13.02% raise, 27.22% bet, 11.24% call, 24.85% check, 23.67% fold. (aggression of 3.58)
Turn: 99 actions, 10.10% raise, 41.41% bet, 19.19% call, 17.17% check, 12.12% fold. (aggression of 2.68)
River: 70 actions, 7.14% raise, 51.43% bet, 28.57% vsll, 7.14% check, 5.71% fold. (aggression of 2.05)

Total aggression: 1.68 (2.55 x-Preflop).

Can I tell from this table that I'm taking things too far?

Thanks,

Mike

Loose refers to pre-flop play, aggression refers to post-flop.

A quick look at those stats seems perfectly normal.

404 hands just isn't enough to go on. It's too small of a sample size.

Once you build up your hand histories in PT, then you will get a wealth of information on your play. In the mean time I would suggest posting specific hands where you felt confused or unsure of your play using a converter. The feedback you will get on this site is great.

good luck

I may be completely misreading stuff, but I thought that loose/tight meant how MANY hands I play, passive/aggressive meant how much I bet when I do play.

That is correct. Loose / tight refers to how many hands you play, aggression refers to post-flop play.

I think you're confusing "loose" post-flop play with being too passive, or just taking losing hands too far (in which case would reflect in your WTSD % and W$SD %).

Isn't taking losing hands too far the definition of loose =)?

Anyway, I think you answered the question in terms of what I should be reviewing...but what should I expect in terms of W$SD and W%SD?

I look for a number around 45-55% for W%SD, don't know about WTSD%.

What you should do is post a couple of the hands you think you took too far post flop. Your mistake may be playing them too passively, but without seeing the hands themselves, it's impossible to tell.
