Tell me what you think of this deal. 15K freeroll given by the casino for all the winners of the previous years tourneys. 6k first,3k second,2k third, 1k fourth, 500 for 5'th-10'th. We get to the final table( I have 18k out of 250k in play). There is one monster stack of about 80k and another of about 60k. Blinds are 4k-8k, no limit. Most other stacks are close to mine. I am on the button to start the table. We are just about to start when the cutoff proposes (jokingly I think) why don't we just split the 15k even. ONLY ONE guy (Mr. 80k) objects !!! But, he says he is willing to do it if (basically) each give him $50 out of our $1500. No other player asked for anything and we split. WOW ! I didn't even have enough to try and steal the blinds. I felt I got an awesome deal. Correct?

Awesome, to say the least. Reminds me of a deal I proposed when there was three of us left with 4500 still to be paid out. The chip leader had many more chips than the other player and myself combined. The chip leader was dumb lucky all night long. Truely a bad player with little tournament experience. I just blurted out, "There's only three of us left, let's just split it up 3 ways---$1500 a piece, o.k?" The chip leader looked down at his chips and said "Let's just play." I said o.k., but at this level, one bad hand and you could easily be in 3rd place and wishing you had taken the $1500. He hesitated a moment and said, "Alright, let"s split it up!" Remember, poker is a mind game played with cards!
