Hey all. My roommate just played this hand and we had a minor disagreement about the river play. I'd appreciate some comments.

Stars .50/1.00

Hero is in EP with 6 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

1 caller, Hero calls, 3 folds, button calls, SB completes, BB checks. 5 to the flop for 2.50.

FLOP

2 /images/graemlins/club.gif 3 /images/graemlins/club.gif 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

SB checks, BB checks, EP checks, Hero bets, button calls, SB folds, BB raises, EP folds. Hero calls, button calls.

TURN

2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

BB checks, Hero bets, button folds, BB raises, Hero calls.

RIVER

6 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

BB bets, Hero raises, BB re-raises, Hero calls.

Hero obviously had no plans to raise the river until the 6 appeared. The BB's play, however, is consistent with a deuce. The BB could also take this exact line with a medium pair or a slowplayed big pair.

Anyways, is the river a simple call, or is the raise and call a three bet best?

3-bet...

I 3-bet the flop, 3-bet the turn and if capped AND the player is passive, i'll flat call the river. If the player is above 1 postflop, i'm raising this river and don't assume the 2 is in play.

You could be up against a pp 77/88/99...
