I know that many 2+2ers also read and post on RGP. I've tried. It's sooooooo bad. I may be obvious here, but is/was there ever any good poker content on there?
How in the Fcuk can you tell who is responding to who? Why do they trail all the responses in the responding post? I guess I'm just really spoiled by 2+2s format, but RGP hurts my eyes and my brain to read it for more than 5 min.

rant over.

I have only been by there a couple of times mostly for the reasons you site.

I honestly didn't know if there was good content or not because it was so cumbersome to read. I thought there must be some way to flatten-out the responses but since I couldn't figure out how to do it I gave up.

RGP has really gone downhill in the last few years. I've heard that many many moons ago there was a very high signal to noise ratio, and it was THE place to go for poker related discussion.

Sklansky, Malmuth, and many others have a mountain of old posts on RGP. Many of them are pretty enlightening. You may have to search through the archives to find the old posts, but they are ususally worth it.

Most everything that gets posted on RGP now is pretty bad. The old archives are the only reason I ever go there.

Sossman,

Not defending the content one way or the other, but if you use a good news reader (Agent, eg) the threads should be pretty readable.

The content on 2+2 has really gone downhill also.

It used to be great, now you need to cut through a lot of chaff to find the wheat.

Using Google might make it easier for you to read.

Check out recgroups.com. Being web-based, it is available from any computer, any location. It has a great "kill-file" feature (to exclude posters you don't want to see), so you can cut down on the crap, and other user defined features. I can't imagine trying to wade through rgp without it. Even with it, there's still a lot of junk, but what the hey, some of it is entertaining if not informative.
