Sngs at Partypoker.

I have been playing limit ring games for a while and have been doing pretty well. However I seem to enjoy and do better at NL SNGs so I would like to give them a try. I have about 130 dollars that I can part with if it doesn't work out. But I heard that the 5+1s are a bad deal and I should only do 10+1s but is my bankroll big enough? Should I get some more money, play 5+1s or do I have enough?

I have been playing SNGs for a three weeks now after playing rings for a couple years, and you're right they are much more fun. Play 10+1. The two numbers I have heard are 10 buy-ins and 30 buy-ins. If you can replace it, 10 buy-ins should be enough for you. The weekends are especially bad, or good, depending on your outlook, so if you are any good you should be able to build up a decent amount over the next few days.

The $5+1 mainly suck because the entry fee kills your RIO by 10%. I also think the difference in players is much greater between $5 vs $10 SNGs than it is at $10 vs $20.

I'd recommend moving the money to ultimate bet.

just play on pokerstars.. much better format

$5+.50 and you start with a ton more chips so you can actually play some cards

Stars and UB are both fine for 5$ SnGs, they both only rake 50cents. Both structures are much better than Party's as well.

the varience is much lower.

competition differences at the 5 level compared to party's 10 level is negligable.

Personally I gave up on Pokerstars and went to UB and partypoker...I got tired of every other winning hand at PS was a flush or str8 or higher...UB seems to have the best RCG of the 3.

who plays the 200+15's at stars? i really feel like i'm missing something because it seems like all the big sng players on this forum play at party. i've tried party but i have trouble beating that game. i played at 10+1 and only did maybe 20. i was not having much success and it seemed like a crapshoot. i've since gone back to stars and am very successful at the 20+2's with over 500 under my belt now.

nonetheless i still feel like i'm missing something with party. any big dogs agree that stars is the way to go?
