We have all been there when we flop a great hand that we never would have seen except that we are the BB and no one raised preflop.

I am near certain I did the right thing here.

As you may have guessed by the title I lost here. That is not important. Should we be a little more careful with 2 pair like this when there is an ace on the board? Or shove it home hoping that Ax pays off?

If he shows the hands that are ahead (A2, A7, 77, AA, 22) you were unlucky. But contemplate the hands that you are ahead of....and there are many. His flop bet looks like an ace that doesn't want to be called.I play the same way. Take that at you're own risk /images/graemlins/grin.gif

i think you did it right. if this wouldve been a ring game you certainly wouldve done it right.

what could he have after he bets the first time? AAA 777 and 222 are all extremely unlikely. A7 and A2 are pretty unlikely. AQ or AJ or AT is very likely, and AK is somewhat likely. of course any ace has a draw on you, but you are likely ahead and the raise was definitely +value in terms of chips.

when he reraises, AK, A7, and A2 become more likely. theres no way you are getting away from a pot that big though when you still have a decent chance to be ahead. you played it well.

you caught a solid flop holding the worse hand in poker. sometimes when i catch a flop like this with a crap hand and still lose, i say to myself, "this hand was already behind preflop...it's was destined to lose anyway". /images/graemlins/grin.gif
it was nothing you could do.

Bottom 2 pair from the blinds are a persistent weak point for me, especially because it comes around just rarely enough for me to overplay it over and over again.

On the other hand, he's betting 175 into a pot of 50 on an A72 rainbow flop. [censored] it, I'm losing or winning all his chips here.
