Who are all these losing players in the 20s 30s 50s 100s that you guys are beating, if there is a rake someone has to lose, I understand why people who play against me are long term losers but I don't get them moving up.

Who are they and why do they move up, or play higher than they can?

Simple answer: Because they can.

Or maybe, like Edmund Hillary so eloquently put it, "Because it's there"

well put.

Also alot of the people are parlayers after winning at a lower limit. They like to gamble for the big score.

Why do whales at casinos drop a million in a day? For the free hocker and coffee?

Yeah, for some losing $215 in a few min is like some of us losing 10 cents. Makes no difference to them.

Some of them may not lose as much as you think. If a player loses in 4 SnG and then gets hot cards and wins one, they are even (less the rake). Most people will see it that they are "even".

I think part of it is that the majority are small enough losers that they manage to convince themselves they aren't losers at all. Can't be that hard when you don't keep records, and I don't imagine many of them do.

Go to a casino and watch a roulette wheel.

There are people there betting ridiculous sums of money compared to the minimum.

For some people poker is a more exciting gamble than say betting on a sports game or a roulette spin as they have some control over how they lose their money.
They play higher because when they win, they win more and get more of a buzz from the victory.

Many people confuse short term luck with being a winning player, and probably aren't there to grind a decent ROI, but to win big money, in their minds. Poor bankroll management is another reason. They win some and move up to take a chance at bigger money even though they can't beat the level they are currently playing. Losing from profit isn't as bad to them as losing from their deposit. Players on tilt also move up once in a while to try to make the money they lost back quickly.

They try higher levels because they want to gain faster the money they lost.

This is probably the most common bad gambling strategy.

Technically with a limitless bankroll and no maximum bets this is a 100% sure fire way to never lose. Too bad those 2 things are impossible to come by.

They would also need to be able to stop once they finally got ahead and that would never happen.

Yep I'd say 2 of the most common reasons are:

Just lost a lot of money.
Just won a lot of money.

Heck, if I just won the bad beat JP or a big multi, you'd be certain to find me swimming in the $200+15's for a couple days!
