No reads, this is my second hand at the table.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
<font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="666666">2 folds</font>, MP2 calls, <font color="666666">4 folds</font>, BB calls.

Flop: (6.33 SB) J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, J/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 8/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">BB bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, MP2 folds, <font color="CC3333">BB 3-bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (6.16 BB) A/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">BB bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (8.16 BB) 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB folds.

Final Pot: 9.16 BB

I'm never sure how to play these situations. The pot is small and I have at best a marginal hand. Can I really put the BB on anything? Should I have folded the flop? I think raising is better then calling, but is folding best?

With no reads, playing my A game, and a bet into you with a player behind who has cold called a pre-flop raise, I would be likely to fold on the flop.

Failing that I would, like you raise, and play the hand as you did.
