(I think that calling it down to the end is the worst option)

Call, but don't call it down to the end. Give your opponent the chance to bet more if he thinks he has the best hand or thinks he can bluff you. You might be able to fold to further large bets, but I don't think you can fold now. Of course, you are only beaten by 77 and a higher 9. It is not that easy for your opponent to win this hand if he is behind now.

I go with option 3...Call the bet on the flop.

It comes down to whether you are willing to play your 9-10 for all your chips. You could easily be beaten here with the villain limpin in with 77's or A9s. He could also be making this play with any pair figuring you don't have the 9's and are betting the 7 from the BB.

I like reraising here in this spot and if he just calls I'm feeling I'm ahead at this point and playing to get all his chips if I can. If he reraises you all in then you have to make a decision if you want to call for your tourny life.

So you say call. What about the turn? Do you bet out? Do you push? Check-call or Check-raise?

In the actual hand, I called, check-called and turn and the river and ended up losing 2/3 my stack when he showed 77 in the pocket.

Re-raising here is pretty bad. He'll fold most hands you beat except maybe misplayed aces, and take your stack with a bigger 9.

Folding is terrible for about a billion separate reasons, the least of which is 'if your default play is to fold trips to a flop minraise you shouldn't be playing this game'.

I'd call and then decide whether to bet or checkraise the turn (probably bet a blank or CR an A.) I can reevaluate whether to fold or not if he puts me all in somewhere, but it's Party so most likely he's getting my stack. Oh well, that's poker, next tourney etc.

I make a minimum reraise and see what he does. If he just calls, I'm probably pushing on the turn. If he comes back over the top again, I'm pushing. If he folds, I'm dragging the pot.
