Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

UTG+1 read is he is just a little too loose, and a little too passive.

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, Hero calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) 3/images/graemlins/club.gif, 5/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 8/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, BB checks, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 bets</font>, Hero calls, <font color="CC3333">SB raises</font>, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (5 BB) J/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, SB folds, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 caps</font>, Hero calls.

River: (13 BB) 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">UTG+1 bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 3-bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero caps</font>, UTG+1 calls.

Vs. this guy if I call the turn and wake up on a paired river I don't think I can get it to a cap.

Final Pot: 21 BB

But you also miss out on the chance to spew chips as a likely roughly 3.4-1 dog. Your ex post facto reasoning is silly.

3-bet the flop. Consider a preflop raise.
