The table had been passive preflop, with moderate aggresion postflop.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with T/images/graemlins/spade.gif, Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
UTG raises, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, Hero calls, BB folds.

Flop: (9 SB) Q/images/graemlins/club.gif, 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 raises, Hero calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Betting out and possibly getting raised by UTG will help cut down the field(in theory) right?

Turn: (8.50 BB) J/images/graemlins/spade.gif (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP2 raises, Hero calls.

This time i wanted to get UTG and UTG+1 for the extra bet when MP2 raised.

River: (12.50 BB) Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises, MP2 3-bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 18.50 BB

Was my thinking okay on this hand? None of my plays seemed to work. Any comments are appreciated.

Fold preflop.

I'd probably just pull a stop and go twice on this one; I like your flop bet and your turn bet, but the river checkraise seems a bit risky. Sure smells like he has a set or something like Q8/QJ.
