My stats are a little rusty, but could someone tell me how rare it is for one guy to get pocket aces 3 times in 8 hands? The game was 9 handed, 9 handed, and 8 handed, if that makes a difference, but I don't think it does. He hit it in Game #16, Game #18, and Game #23 in a $20+$2 at Paradise. Won every time.

This has gotta be a rare bird, I just want to know how rare. One for my personal record books. Can anyone top it?

wrong forum for this question.

i can top it.

i recently had AA 3 times in a row on one table, KK 3 in a row at one table, and simul with that KK 6 times out of 10 hands I was dealt at the 4 tables I was playing.

I lost the majority of those hands. =(

If you post this in the Probability forum, I'm sure someone will crunch the numbers and give you the exact probability of that happening. I'll give it a quicky shot though.

Chances of getting aces in any single hand: 1/221.
Chances of getting aces in any 3 certain hands: 1/10793861.
How many different ways you can arrange 3 hands out of 8: 336.

336 * 1/10793861 = roughly 1 in 32124.6

Thanks. Since I've seen approximately 27,500 SnG hands, then I was about due to see that. Actually, more than due, since with 10 payers at the table, it's a lot more common than I thought.

Now AA three times in a row, that would be rare. Me, I've been known to see nothing but J5o all game. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
