Riverrock Casino 2/4 Limit Ring Game:

Is this a standard rule around straddle bets or is it specific to this particular card room? (I don't really know because I never do it myself - no point in $2/$4 to "advertise" looseness to get action later I think)

I saw UTG straddle bet $4, once it goes around and back to UTG, he bet ANOTHER $2 to $6 (isn't this like raising yourself?). Some other LAG got pissed off and raised it to $8 and UTG capped it at $10 (I thought 4 bet is the cap? In the absence of a straddle, 4 bet is the cap).

Needless to say, this was a great table as long as you were very very very very patient with your starting hand selection /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Better suited for the B&M forum but, straddles are almost always "live" meaning that the straddler gets to act on his bet just like the big blind does in a standard situation. And, almost always it is a 5-bet cap when there is a straddle.
