What are the odds of pulling this hand in Hold'em? I had 8-5 in the SB. Flop was 8-5-5. Turn 8. River 5.

If you don't care about the order of the board cards or which of your hole cards make quads then the probability is 2*C(3,2)/C(50,2) = 0.0306%. Odds of 19594:6 = ~3266:1.

I disagree. For your case in which you are holding cards of two different ranks, the percent chance is .000283%, or about one in 353,127.

Look at it this way: there are six cards left in the deck that will let you accomplish this and you need to spike five of them, one on every single card. The odds of getting one on the first card is 6/50. On the second, 5/49 and so on. Thus, the exact answer is 6*5*4*3*2/50/49/48/47/46

= 720/254,251,200
= 3/1059380

If you have a PP, this is a little trickier than I can figure out after a couple of beers tonight. The odds are more favorable (you already have a bit of a head start on it and the other card can be of any rank). I think you'd start by taking the odds of eventually hitting quads with a PP if anyone knows it off the top of their head, and multiplying by 6/2162 = 3/1081 (the odds that the other three cards are trips)

You're right, it should have been C(6,5)/C(50,5) = .000283%
