I have a vacation day tommorrow (11/18). So I have given myself a one day challange.

Someone wrote about the Sng Ladder challange they were doing.

Every time you have 5 buy ins for the next level you move up.

I am going to allocate $55 from my BR to start with the $10 +1 SnGs.

As soon as I get to $110 I will move up to the $20 +2, when I get $165 I will move up to the $30 +3's.

I will be playing 2 at a time, and as soon as I reach the bankroll will move up when it's time to fire up the next one.

Anyone care to do this with me?

I just did the OIC Challenge at the Gaming Club. Was fun. Will you move down if your bankroll falls to a certain level?

Yes I will. I refuse to play the $5 +1s - but if I move down below the 5 Buy in's for the previous level I will move down.

So For example.

Start $55 +1

55-11 = 44 +50 =94 I WIN!

94-11 = 83 +50 = 133 I WIN AGAIN!

**Move up to LEVEL 20+2

133-22 = 101 I DOn't Place

101- 22 = 79 +100 = 179 - I Win

** UP TO LEVEL 3

179 -33 = 146 - I DON't PLACE

146-33 = 113 +60 =173 I Place 2nd

173 - 33 = 140 I DON'T PLACE

140-33 = 107 I DON't PLACE

** Move back to Level 2**

Sure, Ill give it a shot. The only day I have enough free time to do this is today. Ill start this afternoon and post my results tomorrow. I can probably log 10-12 hours 2 tabling today. Ill start at the 10's and hopefully wont have to move down to the 5's.

Well have fun doing it today.

I'll give mine a shot tommorrow - might give me a goal to shoot for.

I would start tonight, but I am going to the US - Jamica Soccer game in Columbus.

Tailgating starts in like 3 hours I think.

Screw the 5's. If you lose your $55 playing in the 10s, well then bad challange.

2 2nds and a 1st in 4 10+1's. On to the 20+2s.

5 minutes later take 2 9th places in 20+2.

Trip 7s get flushed and than AK losed to AJ heads up.

Back to the $10s

Was pretty satisfied with my results. I should have played 1 more $20 SnG before dropping back to $10. Had to jump to $30s because played 2 $10s when bankroll was $102 and placed in both. Only had one real melt down in 17 Sngs. Im burned out. Thats way more SnGs than I normally play in a day.

My Results

It took my 7 games at the $10 level to move up to the $20 level. I won 3, and didn't place in the other 4. I lost my first 2, but then won 3 of the next 5.

It then took me only 5 games to get up to the 30 level. I took 1 3rd and 2 2nd in my 5 games.

I closed out the night with two 30s. I didn't place in either one.

After 14 tournaments I decided I had enough for a night. Not a bad challange, but I didn't get into the 50's like I had hoped.

Nice going. Its a tough challenge. I was hoping to make the 50s also. I few OTM finishes in a row and you are moving down. I think its worthwhile doing every now and than. If you get a good run going you could do very well for 1 day's work. Was good for me to experience the game at higher levels. Not as intimidating as I thought it would be.

I would agree. Even though I didn't win any of my 20s - I actually found that there were some bigger fish in them. Maybe the fish who can afford it don't see the point of playing for such a "small pot", but there was some terrible, terrible play in the 20s. A guy went in against me with A3s - on a 994 board. I had trip 9s - I kept betting, he kept calling until he hit his miracle river straight.

Another guy was berating him and he said "I thought he was bluffing" This was like the 3rd hand, so no idea how he had a read on me. Plus he said" I had an Ace".

I did find the 30's much tougher. Maybe it was just the ones I played, but they were all very tight. It was tough for anyone to get much of a stack going, and when we still had 8 left with blinds at 75/150 - it was pretty close to all in or fold, as everyone was right around the 10xBB level.

But I will do it again, also playing 14 in one day (2 at a time max) is a long day. I took a couple breaks, but man it must be tough for your "pros" to play this much every day.

BAH! Busted out after 23 tournaments. Made it as high as the 30+3's but never got going anything going after that. All in all is was a lot of fun. I've only been concentrating on SNGs for about a week so this was a great way to gain some experience. This is probably something I will try once a week, or so. Thanks for bringing this up.

glad to know i contributed to some of your dead money.

man that was some ride the second game (im more peeved about my last hand trip 5s losing to backdoor flush, if id have won id have been up to 500).

ive tried a few of the 20s just to see what they are like and i agree they have no difference to the 10s. so once bankrolled id recommend moving right on up.

havent tried 30s, so ill take your word for it.

however what id like to point out is you played 5 of em, maybe it was just uncharictaristically (sp?) tough at the time. ive had some _really_ tough 10 games, where several were folding as many hands as i do, and gotton 4 handed in 400/800 blinds (3-way at the 500/1K!!!). so maybe its just a case of small sample sizes?

anyhow, sounds like a crack the 1 day challenge. i may do my own, see how things go over the weekend.

congrats on the 30s though.

Thank's for the feedback Phil. I think I lost in the first one I played with you. My 9s ran into Queens and Jacks (OUCH). But I think I was shortstacked already)

The second one I think I won. I think that was the one you took that brutal beating with KK, when you were up against a flopped full house. Another Ouch.

I was kinda peeved you were like 2 after me in the first game, so I thought I'd return the favor and sit after you in the second.

I also want to ad my sample size is way to small to make any real comments on the 30s, or 20's for that matter. Just an observation from my games yesterday.

And yes a 10 can be very tight. I got into a heads up battle with one guy that the blinds started at 400/800 and it wasn't over until it was at 1000/2000. I have never seen the blinds get that high. Glad I won that tournament, but with blinds that high and only 15,000 in play overall it became a total crap shoot the last 3 hands.

wow, 1K/2K, never gone higher than 600/1200, however my uber aggression heads up is prolly to blame (it was the game with 1K BB 3 way that made it that high.

i didnt notice you in the first game at first. it was the hey that made me scan the names and i knew you got the best seat there. i like to steal, but im willing to fold my blinds (prolly a bit too much). however ive never played with someone i think a re-steal has a great chance of working on so who knows.

for the record, in the first two stages i was half watching the game and half reading your posts on late game play to get some kind of read on how youd play, figuring we'd both end up playing at the end - i lurve the search function /images/graemlins/cool.gif

do you happen to have the hand number for any of that game. there was a fairly key hand i wanted to post on here but i lost the number; it was the one i eluded to on the next game, where i folded a big hand short handed to a raise and a few limpers. just any hand number and i can work my way back or forth till i find it. if not, no worries mate.

that KK beat was tough, but ill take the preflop action anytime, all in verse AJ in level 1, damn right im up for it. the JJA flop was harsh but that poker. it was the same guy who rivered a flush to beat my set 5s to knock me out a few hands later (i almost turned 50 into 500, then who knows how far i coulda gone). ta for cutting it heads up when i had to go in with KT v your AQ, i was hoping someone would do that.

it was good to play with another 2+2er, even if i had to say we were tailors to disguise the fact i stupidly brought up this thread (thread, get it) in the chat.

hope to play again with some more 2+2ers in the future, was a crack. im game for the euro game on tues if i can shift my role out of pokerroom to neteller to do so (switching to pokernow soonish). i have to ring them up to do it apparently, how [censored] is that for a cash out method, all cos i bought in off my switch card.

Hi Cleve Guy,

I am a longtime lurker here and a regular on Pokerroom's 22s and 33s. Saw you during the challenge, I was hoping that you would make it to the 22s before I had to go to work.

There are just as many crazy 33s as there are 11s. I was in a 33 today where there was a three way all in on the second hand and we were down to five after the second level. Then I busted out when some brainiac with an A /images/graemlins/heart.gif9 /images/graemlins/club.gif decided to go all in on a K /images/graemlins/spade.gifQ /images/graemlins/diamond.gif5 /images/graemlins/club.gif flop against my K /images/graemlins/heart.gifQ /images/graemlins/heart.gif of course the runner runner A /images/graemlins/spade.gif 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif.

The big difference is the bubble at the 22s, 33s and 54s. Things tighten up much more. People folding to mini-raises and re-raises is common place. Can't say that for the 10s /images/graemlins/tongue.gif. Makes it much easier to make it into the money.

With a decent bankroll you can do very well. Look for me during the day 4sluss41

Might just make a pot of coffee and give this a shot well into the wee hours tonight. Thanks for the idea.
