I'll do you one more. I never understood why anyone liked U2 so much in the first place.

JBB doesn't like U2.

Wait, are we discussing what WE think about them? Oh, they're OK.

Can someone explain why their song on that iPod commercial goes "Uno, dos, tres, catorce!" which is Spanish for "One, two, three, fourteen!"?

I haven't heard someone mangle Spanish that badly in a song since Joe Strummer singing "Should I Stay or Should I Go?"

yeah well, its a song, they do what they want. Just like when snoop adds sweet extra letters to words to make his own langauge. Although snoop is on a much higher lizzevel, so he really shouldnt be comepared to crappy bands like U2. Not to mention he has his own Girls Gone Wild vidizzle oh fo shizzle.

Having a girlfriend who loves U2 makes it worse.

No, bdkclash is right. Every single time I see that moronic commercial, I think two things: 1.) Why does he skip four through thirteen?, b.) doesn't anyone else think that whole "Hellohellohellohello" thing sound like it was copped from Nirvana?, and 4.) why does the Earth continue to tolerate U2, and Bono in particular?

I could never stand them when they were a simpering, ridiculously maudlin emotional flag-waving Christian dilettante band.

Now that they're hip oldster Nobel Peace Prize nominee secularists, I hate them even more.

Uh, U2 sucks.

U2's stuff was pretty sick in their prime. Listening to Boy and War is like listening to a different band.

I never really liked Joshua Tree or the more popular albums from them (Achtung Baby - feh), but I'm usually partial to bands earlier, more sincere sounding stuff. (It's hard to imagine ever using the term sincere to describe anything U2 ever did).

I think you're late on this one too by a few years.

I think you're right, but what's much worse is that it's late in going away. I just assumed it would be history by now. A couple of months ago I was having dinner and the guy from Dashboard Confessional sat down with his HAWT girlfriend at the table next to me. He looks like a wuss.
