View Full Version : Another Bet Amt Question

09-15-2001, 10:58 AM
Last night I made a mistake which cost me a fair amount of chips. No limit holdem tournment, Standard 10 person payout and we are down to 18 people, playing at two tables. The blinds are substantial at $500/1000 with a $200 ante. I have a large stack in the cutoff, all fold to me, and I raise 3X the BB amount to $3000. The BB is the chip leader. He mutters something about the pot odds being right and calls the additional $2000. The flop was a very bad AKT (I had 77) and I mucked to his bet.

My question is what is a proper sized bet when antes are involved. Going over the hand this morning, I realized that I was indeed offering him the proper pot odds to take a shot at me.

Thanks, Calvin
