I get 33 2 off the button with 1600 in chips, blinds are at 200/400
1 limper in early position, I limp and BB checks
Flop is
A 6 8
checked to me I move all in thinking these guys don't have an ace. No reads as I have just been reseated to this table. Should I have made this push with no reads, or is this a good semi bluff more often than not?

If you decide you want to play that hand, you should push preflop. You don't want those blinds in there, and you have some folding equity with the limper too. Their stacks sizes are important as well - I assume they have you covered? Given the way it played out, I don't think the push is terrible, but there are certainly more profitable ways to play that hand.

And that's not a semi-bluff.

Oh right I forgot to mention stack sizes, BB had 1000 after the blind and UTG had something like 1800.
Isn't it a semi bluff since I'm trying to bluff out 2nd and 3d pair?

no, its a pure bluff. Other than a 3 what can improve your hand?

you have 4BB and you limp preflop? doesnt seem like a good play to me unless you were planning to do a stop and go (which i wouldnt do here) in which case your question answers itself.

Stop and gos don't exactly work when you're not first to act after the flop...
