another hand from the $50+5 ub tournament last night.

still 7 handed, final table (in the money). i have j8o in the BB with 9k, and i'm the short stack. 400/800 w 100 ante. i have folded every hand for the past couple of orbits, and the SB (11k) has been raising pretty much every hand that's folded to him. no one has played back at him, so i'm not sure how he'll react to a 3bet.

it's folded to SB, who makes it 2200. i push.

If he's been raising every hand that's folded to him, he could very well have anything in this spot. I think a push is definitely +EV due to the size of the blinds, the similar sizes of your stacks and his hyper-aggression. You should expect to take his 2200 and the antes uncontested a significant percentage of the time.

Hard situation your gonna have to make a stand against him eventually...not a bad spot bc you get so much folding equity, on the flip side your in big big trouble if you get a call here. Im probably gonna muck it but then again i'm usually the guy getting 4th or 6th not first.

only hand youre worried about getting called by is AJ or JJ. i dont mind the push at all

Unless you're playing on-line, in a small-to-mid buy-in tourney, where you're getting called by much worse hands very frequently.

yes, and in fact i got called by a3o and busted out.

i was surprised to see him call with that hand... if i had recognized he'd be that loose i would've folded /images/graemlins/frown.gif
