Live 20/40 at Brantford.

OK game, some tough spots in WPT jackets. One has the Commerce Casino jacket, the other has a PartyPoker Million jacket so I don't have much respect /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Either way, EP limps, as he is wont to do with middle suited connectors, any two broadway, and all pairs. MP a little looser, limps as well. Neither are particularly imaginative, both very straightforward.

Folded around to me in BB.

I check my 6 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

3 to the flop (3.5 SB): 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

I check, EP checks, MP bets, I call, EP calls.

3 to the turn (3.25 BB): (2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 8 /images/graemlins/heart.gif) K /images/graemlins/spade.gif

I check, EP checks, MP bets, I raise, EP calls two cold, MP folds.

I plan on betting any non-heart river.

Comments?

Your hand on the flop I think is in the category of hands that are good enough to bet or raise with but not good enough to check-call with. Betting the river is obviously correct IMHO given how you played the turn, but I don't like your play on the turn.

they´re both straightforward.

one of them coldcalls 2 on the turn. The other one calls your checkraise.

You are dead if you dont improve on the river.

I bet that flop and hope they fold. Your way, now you've put in two big bets on the turn and you have 6-high, so now you've got to bet the river. Seems more like EP might have spades rather than hearts. Anyway, smallish pot, I wouldn't have put as many chips in it on the turn.

Here's hoping the river was the 3 /images/graemlins/club.gif. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Betting the flop and betting the turn here is usually more effective and costs less. You will also get called by some really bad hands here on the river sometimes if your opponents really analyze the hand, because they have to convince themselves that you have a hand so good that you were willing to check it twice.

What's my play if I bet and get raised on the flop?

you said they were straight forward. I fouy bet the flop and were raised, it's obvious MP would have folded, seeing as he was on a bluff or a very weak 8.

On the turn after you check, the raiser would most likely check his flush draw, and now you can bet out any non heart river without wasting 2 big bets.

bottom line, the pot is so small why would you even bother. i would probably fold the turn if he bet anyway

I bet and EP folded.
