My W$WSF is rather low I realized, at around 33-35%. I've seen people with 39-42% i think. I was just wondering what the problems may be. I think it is mainly something to do with the blinds, as my other positions are at 45-50%.

I'm not sure if i'm seeing too many hands in the blinds, or not defending past the flop enough. maybe both.

here are some relavant stats... any words of advice would be appreciated, or stats to compare...

folded SB to steal 76%
folded BB to steal 62%
Vol put $ in from SB 33.8% (i think this is pretty high)

From the Positional Stats Tab:
VPIP BB 18.7%
Went to showdown - BB: 24.6%
Went to showdown - SB: 29.1%

here are some stats to compare. <<10-20, 30k hands>>

w$wsf - 42%

folded sb to steal - 88% (shhh don't tell anyone)
folded bb to steal - 60%

vpip sb - 35%
vpip bb - 21%

wsd sb - 34%
wsd bb - 30%

my guess is you're missing bluffing/ semibluffing opportunities out of position.

I definetly require some lessons in defending the blinds.
What hands would you defend with. I give away most of my sb hands, my thinking is I am out of a position the whole round another person yet to act. I almost ashamed to admit it but my folded sb to steal is 90%. Meantime my winrate in the small blind is +.01. My folded BB to steal is not as bad but way higher then the norm. Help

My thought is that this Winning dollars when seeing flop % could be heavily influenced by sample size. It could be because of bad cards. Maybe not. How many hands we talking about?

My stats for comparison:

W$WSF 37.01
Folded SB to Steal 81.97
Folded BB to Steal 71.23
VP$IP from SB 34.04
VP$IP from BB 15.81
Went to SD BB 28.18
Went to SD SB 37.38

You may be playing too loose from the blinds or I might be playing too tight. But it seems the difference between our stats is that I play fewer hands from the blinds when facing a raise, yet I take the hands I play from the blinds farther than you take your hands. Don't know if this helps any, hopefully it does.

There's no secret hand range for correct blind defense. You have to think about 1. how tight is the raiser and 2. how does he play postflop.

obviously the looser his raises the more hands i'll defend with as a general rule. how he plays postflop generically: if he plays well i play fewer hands, if he plays bad i play more. how he plays specifically also changes things. is he too aggressive, does he always rope a dope ace high, will he pay off all the way with no pair etc. also image factors can come into play. so there's lots to think about.
