I lost all mine years ago and I don't write anymore- mostly because I suck. I've been thinking about taking a creative writing course.

I was able to find this though:

Starving we sing these songs
Of forever-smiling corpses
Of newfound love and joy
Pure excitement in a

This wind a million ghosts
Swift formations
Often humble breezes
Mumbled secrets
Then the whistling screams of regret

Long fingers through cold damp hair
Soft tongues on goose-pimpled necks
Transparent eyes with silent tears

Spirits who never fail
To find intoxicated children dancing
On the edge of apartment building rooftops
Somewhere in the smog of quick answers

Do you remember when
We used to drink pink wine?
Spinning in dulcet confusion
Blue-Eyed Girl
Do you remember when
We used to sing in the wind-soaked rain?

I guess you can call it "wind"

I would like to make a prediction that, if bison bothers to respond to this thread, he will probably own it with a poem he writes in like 4 minutes. However, I will come up with my own poem about poker and post it, since I did write the stuff pretty frantically for a while. Stay tuned.

This is a haiku I submitted to some poetry book. My teacher loved it, but sadly said he could not print it. Enjoy.

Can you find me now?
I am hiding from Papa.
Beat, beat, beat. He beats.

This is a senryu, not a haiku. A senryu deals with human affairs. Haiku are about nature.

Thank you.

Peppermint Patty.
She was busted with Marcy.
Just a snoopy tongue.

Some say they're worthless.
I'll rip off your eyebrows too.
Don't call me a freak.

An apple for Bob.
Three carrots for Jennifer.
One fetus for me.

Eat my pubes, said Mom.
Do I really have to, Dad?
Mom did it for you.

Swimming in the sea.
Skinning dipping for pleasure.
Hope fish nibble me.

Do me a favor?
Stick your hand in the toilet
And grab my toothbrush.

We call it life...

A requiem to an impossible dream;
An inspiration to not let things be what you deem.
A spontaneity that drives for perfection;
A life that's nothing more than a reflection.

An indifference to anything that matters;
An inability to hear anything that patters.
A philanthropic day that is left unsettled;
A willingness that leaves one nettled.

A chance, a hope, a will, a way;
An opportunity to cast a bright new ray.

Earth Poem

Scrawled on copper
backs
in soot and salty
strain,
my gaunt verse of
toil
hummed in
grunts,
days, the parching
sun
swallowed into the
swing
of arms, the clash of
steel
sunk into my dusty
flesh.
I am the poet-labor,
the poet-earth.

I am desperate for my
shape—

I yearn for
myself,
for more to be
done.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue;
You think this will rhyme,
But it won't.

wrote this song about a guy who has a crush on the board girl and lost 7 grand in a bad poker night - (and you Canterbury guys know who Leesa is, but no, I did not lose 7 grand /images/graemlins/grin.gif - came up with it after writers block and the other guit player in the band tells me to make up a story about the saps around the poker table.

the BST plays it live occasionally....one of our better rockers.

-----------------
Too Much

Leesa, come away with me
and be my river card
my one shot at redemption
or my favorite prison guard
some things for a gambler
just become his favorite crutch
but Seven Thousand Dollars, love
is probably just a few too much

I know that I look ragged
and I don't look like a catch
I swear sometimes even the colors
of my eyes, they do not match
but neither bad luck nor the Devil
has brought me to the ground
but after Seven Thousand Dollars,
I think I'm slowing down

And now my hands are shaking
even when I'm standing still
if nothing else can get to me
this way of life sure will
and what was once a painful purchase
has now become an easy sell
it was Seven Thousand Dollars
but it felt like Ten or Twelve

So I'll be your favorite virtue
if you'll be my favorite vice
we'll go down to San Diego
where the weather's always nice
or if there's anywhere you want to go
I can do that just as well
I've still got Three Thousand Dollars
and we'll keep that for ourselves

Agreed. Reading most poetry is like being asked to swallow a turd.

I was once offered a choice
both of which were sins some might say

the elegance of beauty and style
or the conditioned support of sociatel "acceptability"

and after many long hours of pondering,
i have decided,
once and for all
ok
i'd do it.

I'd Fcuk Brad Pitt in the ass.

The price to [censored] went up a buck
Those corporate bastards sure do suck
My cash and I would not be parted
So I paid a dime and only farted.

bisonbison poetry thread (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=smallholdem&Number=1201128 &page=0&view=expanded&sb=7&o=14&fpart=all)

Scroll down for the poems, they're funny, bison is talented.

I'm trying to work out what Schneids' first poem was about, I have very little idea. It reminds me of Plath, though.

Me too, I think it's great. Not mine though; I saw it in a book when I was a kid somewhere. Still brings a grin to my face though.
