no reads of any note on these guys.

5/10 6max

I'm in the BB with J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif

button open limps, sb calls, I check

flop: (3SB) J/images/graemlins/heart.gif8/images/graemlins/spade.gif2/images/graemlins/spade.gif
SB bets, I call, button folds

turn: (3BB): 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif
sb bets, I raise, sb folds

I usually raise the flop in these sorts of situations. Sb will often be trying to take a shot at the pot here, and I'd rather not give the button good odds to see the turn.

I would raise flop.

If the button has a flush draw or open-ender, raising likely won't force him out. Every other draw is already incorrect to call one bet. By raising you might prevent him from making a mistake. Plus, I don't think the pot is big enough to warrant raising for protection.

Raise flop, it is likely that the SB is taking a shot, plus give the button no odds to call. SB may pay off with mid pair.

But if he has a good draw, though he is correct to call the action is still +ev for hero. Plus a lot of monkeys will call down with middle pair. In my mind, the burden of proof is on the case for not-raising, and I'm just not convinced.
