some people at work got excited over this a while ago. the image is dark, the unit is clunky, overheating is a huge issue, and the bulbs last less than 100 hours. it doesn't take too long for a cheap dell, infocus, panasonic, epson, etc projector to actually beat it in cost-efficiency on the bulbs alone (without issues in the other areas).

That sucks.... I wonder if you could replace the bulb with a metal halide? The warm up time would be a bit long, but those things are bright and have a super long lifespan.

Even so, it probably isn't worth the time....

To bad, it would be kind of fun to build your own projection TV.

yeah, this has been around for a while. There are always people on ebay selling the lenses.
