Im on the button with AKo

CO open raises, I 3 bet, sb folds, BB (solid player)caps, CO calls, I call

Flop: KJ8r
BB bets out, CO folds, I raise, BB calls

Turn: 6 (completes the rainbow)
BB checks, I check

River: 8
BB checks, I bet, BB calls

My thinking was, that against the range of hands he would cap PF, there is a real possibility I am behind in this hand. I didn't want to get check raised, because I know he is capable of doing that with AK so I would have to call. If I am ahead in the hand tho, he could quite possibly fold to my turn bet, so by checking I might get another bet out of a hand I normally wouldn't. While saving some bets if I am behind.
