I figured the /images/graemlins/spade.gif was a scare card given my flat call on the flop. I wasn't sure what to make when he lead out on the flop - 2 pair perhaps?

Anyway, comments?

good read but could be very dangerous if villain was semibluffing on the flop.

your turn raise pretty much pot commits you.

I think this move works well if you can narrow him down to a big A.

good job.

i don't really like this play. if was betting a flush draw on the flop, you're hosed. if he was betting a hand like AJo, you just made it easy for him to get away. and if that hand includes the J /images/graemlins/spade.gif, you're going to get called and have no idea where you are on the river.

my prefered line would be to raise the flop to avoid giving the cheap flush draw, bet the turn, and check behind on the river (assuming he behaved).

after calling the flop, i would call the turn, and check/fold the river if it's a spade and call if it's not. i'd put out a small value bet on the river if he checked it to me to try to get paid off by a smaller ace.
