View Full Version : I suck at shorthanded Limit Hold em'

I have heard, read, and learnt that you are to loosen up in shorthanded games. I do that. I play hands such as A5 offsuit, K9 offsuit, and hands like 45suited. Are these hands wrong!

Should I be playing drawing hands up front or even on the button if the game is shorthanded. Are the pot odds gonna be there in a loose passive 5 handed game? I tend to be extra aggressive in shorthanded games and I think I over compensate hands such as top pair. Any advice is appreciated!

my advice would be this...

fold 45s to a raise unless you're in the BB, and fold it utg. if there are limpers call or sometimes raise on the button.

fold K9o to a raise unless you're in the BB, and fold it utg. raise with it on the button or in the cutoff if the button won't often call your raise.

fold or 3-bet A5o to a raise (i'd usually fold). limp or raise with it utg, depending on the texture of the game. almost always raise with it on the button.

others may disagree.
