Obviously it's the river play I doubt here.

Unless he's holding 88, he's a total fish if he shows you a straight. I'd be more worried about two pair. In any case, I think you have the odds to call, especially since this is a good river for him to bluff.

hey guy,
in my experience whatever they (a fishy but sane player) have can beat one pair almost every time. I think this is a case of bet and fold to a raise, although I really hate doing that in 6 max. I pay this off all the time too, and seem to lose almost every time.
