I'm thinking I should have raised or check/raised when the flush hit.

Any advice on how I should play this hand would be great.

I think its ok. The board is paired, so you hate a re-raise and he might not call a raise with a worse hand, even if you think there's a good chance you're ahead. You can raise on the turn if you want, but if he comes back over the top of you you probably have to fold your hand.
