No read on MP1, but that he's way too loose. I figured it was more likely he hit Ax for worse two pair or even J8s or something, than have a set.

Anyone just call the river raise on this board?

River 3-bet is good for precisely the reasons you describe.

I count two hands beating his set? Staying in for a 2-outer and then not jamming? I think he's an opponent you'll beat over the session...

You still played it correctly. A8 and J8 will get raised by the same guy, and you obliterate both. Looking forward, with a poor postflop player like the villan here, I'd be raising his PF calls with lesser holdings consistently. I'd also be more inclined to raise it with average holdings on the flop if he was my left, making him pay two bets to continue. Plenty of money to be made this way, since he's probably calling anyhow.
