I hadn't had a cigarette for four years or so, then I moved down here to the South, where everyone smokes, and next thing you know, I'm smoking a pack a day, telling myself it's no big deal, I'll quit when I get around to it, etc.
I was waking up wheezing, coughing my ass off in the shower every morning, getting winded on the golf course, for God's sake.
Anyway, in a recent thread, Ray posted the following:

I don't know, maybe it was just the right combination of words at the right time, or maybe it was the tone that I appreciated, but I haven't smoked a cigarette for about a week. I see no reason to think I'll start again.
