UTG+1 knows me, I know him, we've played a fair amount together live, which means they've seen me get out of line.

Looks like he wanted to protect himself from a 3-bet with KQ or an underpair. Nice hand.

Could you, or anyone, explain this more?

I can't see him c/r a king. Isn't he putting you on at AK, maybe higher? Or did you put him on a bluff?

Thanks,
gm

is that an answer or a guess?

this hand definitely deserves an "I'm confused" 3-bet. whoever it is, there's no way he check-calls 2 streets with KK then goes for a river check-raise. even if he gets you to 3-bet, it's not worth the risk. but what else would he check-raise the river with? AK? AA? KQ? none of this makes sense, though you are known to value bet thin, so AK could make some sense, though he can't fold to a 3-bet because I could see you 3-betting there with AK

I vote bluff

I doubt it. If this guy has played with Dave he knows that this bluff would have almost 0 chance of working. He's gotta have something.

Possibly. Maybe, even.

Now that I finally entered the 1990s and have AIM on my computer, Brad has been randomly messaging me Ebay auctions for Snagglepuss and sending me "DONK DA DONK DONK DONK!" messages.

No way for KK; I highly doubt A8s. He does little for Shania, and A8s in EP for a raise is serious Shania for him. UTG+1 has said to me previously that QQ is an autocap.

yes I edited that out, though I can see him folding to a raise from Brad. his raises actually deserve respect

he should lay down to the 3-bet I think... something about his line just doesn't sit right with me. because it's you, I don't mind his assumption that you'll bet the river. I think you'll bet the river with anything better than TT. assuming that you call the raise with QQ or worse might be a stretch
