I heard about it in Rounders but I couldnt find it anywhere. Is it out of print, made up, or am I just looking in all the wrong places? Its the book the famous quote about remembering bad beats came from.

the author is supposed to be Jack King. (A perfect name if you were going to make up a poker author, I just think its real since the other references seemed legit)

If it exists where could it be found?

I thought Jack King was a fake name. I mean that name is just too good for a poker player.

I googled and found what you found but still couldnt find anywhere to buy it. If any of you happen to find a place that sells it could ya post a link. Id like to give it a read. Mike McDurmot shouldnt get to have all the fun.

Looks like the UF doesn't have a copy. Not really sure were you could find one.

GBC did a "reprint" in 1970. They added the word "Winning" to the original 1940 title. Its 209 pages, paperback and ring-bound and is 4" by 7".

I paid $3 for my copy 34 years ago - I was very young.

There were 2 or 3 copies available when I posted the link. I guess that they got bought.

Has anyone found this book available for purchase. I would love to get my hands on it. I found another interesting looking book by the same author (not under the psuedo Jack King)

Dowling, Allen
Title is The Raw, Rowdy World of Poker

I wonder if this is the same book... with a diffrent title as i'm sure the content is the same or similar.

I found a copy a while back through used book sources via the Internet. Check out the out-of-print book search at Amazon and www.biblio.com. (http://www.biblio.com.) You may have to search for a while to find a copy, but I expect that one will turn up eventually.
