View Full Version : Wild 0-8 adjustments?

10-handed, quite often capped before the flop with more than half of the players coming in. 3-6 with a kill, meaning vast seas of white to be scooped. $300-400 pots not unusual.

How to adjust starting hands - take a tight point count system and perhaps add 20% to the minimums? Play anything with a suited ace and other spoke of the wheel?? Nothing but A2-A3 double-suited???

Flop and beyond: redraws to the nuts worth chasing in the face of pressure? If so, do you fire chips and pray?? Would huge pot odds make 2nd nut hands enticing to try???

The loose games in omaha hilow are great. Just sit back and play the very strongest startinghands. You will have 1-2 every round and this will be quit enough in the longrun because you are going to get called even if your gamestyle is saying "I AM SUPERTIGHT".

In the loose games the pots often reach such levels that everyone has "close to justifiable" potodds. Therefor you wait, and when you hit your flop you bet and just watch as you get several callers with you holding lets say 27 outs and the others 4 each. Great!!!

Just play the nut draws- a very simple and under these circumstances profitable playstyle. And if you feel that they are learning to read you a little bit too well, maybe you might throw in a freecard on the flop when lets say you have your low already made. this can often cause confucion enough for the rest of the session. good luck.

And remember. the way you are going to win in this game is not by donating to them, beliving you can outplay them when the have a better hand, it is by them donating to you when you hold the better hand.
