I was just reminiscing about playing classic arcade games such as X-Men and The Simpsons while playing on my NES emulator. I've heard of MAME32 as one such emulator that has the capability for these games. I just can't find any good sites for the ROM's that actually work (and aren't just cartoon porn). Any help would be appreciated.

You can find people that sell every arcade ROM ever produced on CD or DVD for under $50. Technically you're donating $ for the media itself. In any case, it's well worth it considering how much time you'd invest hunting for downloads.

If you're interested, PM me and I'll try and find the email of the guy I bought mine from.

After a freakin hour, I have no luck working MAME (any version). I did have some success downloading the roms, but they did not work, nor is it clear how MAME works. UGH! Do I really have to pay $20 something for these roms?!

MAME is extremely easy to use.

Go to the site.
Click Emluators
Click MAME
Click MAME32 to download.
Click Download now.
Download the .zip file
Run the file. You can install it anywhere you'd like. MAME32 is now installed.

Download a ROM.

Click MAME (under the ROMS menu)
Click a game to download (try 1942 set1)
Click download now.
Click save. Choose the location to save the file - this is important!

Save the file in your mame32/roms folder. Do not unzip the files.

Once the file is saved, open mame32. You will see a list of games.
Click 'available' on the left menu. You will now see a list of available games. 1942 should be there.
Double click to run 1942.
