No matter what you think of nuclear energy, it's extremely dangerous to protest by trying to disrupt the transportation of nuclear fuel or waste.

An anti-nuclear protester died in northeastern France after being run over by a train carrying nuclear waste from France to Germany, regional authorities said.

The 21-year-old man, who had chained himself to the railway near the city of Nancy, lost a leg after he was crushed by the train and died despite receiving emergency treatment at the scene.

That guy was a moron. I nominate him for one of these: www.darwinawards.com/ (http://www.darwinawards.com/)

As far as I know, there is no reason to fear radioactive waste anymore.

"The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Amec, the company that cleaned up Ground Zero, have developed a new process for storing nuclear waste that lasts two hundred thousand years - far longer than any radioactivity will last. The process works by mixing eighty percent soil with twenty percent waste and then heating the mixture to three thousand degrees centigrade. When the mixture cools it forms into a glass harder than concrete. While this is not the first waste process of this type it is the first to be cost effective and produces a glass much harder than previous methods. "

Protesting is fine, waving banners etc but thre train is running the waste is going to be moved delaying it is actually increasing the risk of a spill somewhere.

As for chaing yourself to the rails in front of a moving train is not the smartest thing ever to do.
