How many of you blindly follow pot equity based call and raise decisions?

In my limited experience so far, the pots have tended to grow so large that they justify waiting for miracle river cards. In these situations, from a pot equity point of view, it seems that ignoring early fold signals often results in a positive expectation later (based on the simple pot equity calcs).

Can you give an example? I'm thinking you mean something like this: on the turn, the board is

A/images/graemlins/spade.gif K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif

You have 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif 8/images/graemlins/club.gif. You're sure no one yet has a flush (but at least one opponent has a spade), there are 20 big bets in the pot, and you have to call one big bet to close the action and see the river. Do you do it?

(Don't ask me how you got to the turn with 20 big bets in the pot and a hand like this! /images/graemlins/smile.gif)
