With small pocket pairs, from my limited limit experience i find that its not even profitable to play them. How do you play them?

Play them from middle or late position for one bet with a buncha limpers. Flop sets. Turn flushes (for the opposition) River boats.

Easy.

Then you're playing them wrong.

Small pairs are very easy to play - play them when you are going to have multiple opponents. If you're in EP, you can limp in if players behind you are likely to also come in.

Flop a set - bet and raise a lot.
Don't flop a set - check and fold a lot.

See? It's simple.
