What was your reasoning for the push? Since MP2 limps in and then bets the flop, he probably has an A or a K. He could even have KQ or AQ and have the Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif.

I would not push with nothing but a flush draw, back door straight draw unless:

1. I had top pair or at least two over cards
2. I was drawing to the nuts
and most important
3. I would want to be the 1st one in the pot (not coming over the top of someone who I was pretty sure I was behind),

Your thoughts?

All good points, but your range of hands for Villain is way to narrow. He could literally have 23o.

Check raising this flop give me a chance to:
- Take a free card (which I would love)
- Force Villain to fold a better hand (given the strength a CR shows K high may drop)
- Draw to my flush getting 1.9-1 odds if called

Just to illustrate the second point, Villain took his whole time bank to call with A5o.

I think my error was check raising a flop where its pretty obvious (to a thinking opponent) that I'm drawing to the flush. Any monster worth check raising this flop (except 22 and a whacky flopped flush) would have probably raised PF. Even ignoring the PF action AK no spades pretty much has to bet this flop up front.

I don't like fancy plays like this in low buy-in tournaments. On one hand, you give your opponent so little credit he could be on any two cards PF (which is pretty true), then you turn around and expect him to properly respect a CR, or to be able to lay down any sort of pair or draw whatsoever.

It is must easier to get your opponent to make bad calls when you have a good hand, than to hope for them to make bad folds when you don't.

Completely agree.
I never do this.
Just trying different things at the 5s before I move up.
Probably not the best testing ground.

Well, it isn't THAT bad of a testing ground, since the most you can lose is $5. :P

Taking a free card? Not like you have to fear any more bets anyways.

I'd say bad play. Drawing to the 2nd nut flush on a 3 suited board is bad poker in my book. (people are liable to call your c/r allin with Q hi flush draw ONLY), in which case you have only a few outs.
