Actually I don't think a high post count matters. I think the key is that you don't have a low post count. Often in the various forums you see someone criticise another poster. This criticism is met with a "You only have n posts, who the hell are you to talk to (respected poster) that way!"

I think the key is 1000. Get over a grand then be as harsh with the carpal tunnels as you want.

I feel it's a downward cycle. First you come to this site and lurk without even registering. Then you decide to register because heck, you spend half your time at work reading so why not join. Then you take the big step of making your first post, hoping nobody tears your head off for being an idiot. For the first month(s) you still mostly lurk, but post occasionally. People then start to recognize you and respond to you directly so you can actually have a dialogue, increasing your post count several times a day. Just about at this point you realize you have no life outside 2+2 and begin posting 20+ times a day and wishing your name was TheSaltCracka.

I am still in the very early stages, so maybe in a few months I'll be allowed to participate with all you fun people. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I'm browsing 2+2 80% of the time its cause I'm playing poker/about to play poker/just got done playing poker.

Then again I play poker for like 5 hours a day so I guess that makes sense...
