Boy things really dead here since the Stud forum opened.


ObPoker: Does anyone have any mental tricks they use for calculating outs? Obviously you need outs be able to compare to pot odds but doing both these calculations quickly in my head is something less than automatic for me. Any help or advice appreciated.

then during heat of the battle, you can make good guesstimates from there

another idea: count the outs and compare to 24 to get approx odds. thus 6 outs == 4 to 1 odds


10 outs==about 2 1/2 to 1


just approx, but fast!
