View Full Version : Has there ever been anything...
you regret missing/not doing (e.g. birth of your child, tv show, 3-some) b/c u were playing poker?
Not bashing the game at all, but just getting a gauge on where poker fits in on ppl's personal choices/lives...

2. TV shows? Heck the rerun those.
3. 3-some. Been there, done that- but if another comes along i sure as hell won't be playing cards....

I was playing in the Luxor one day, after busting out of their $20 tournament. I got a call on my cell phone, won a nice pot, then started racking my chips.
"Where are you going? You're going to scoop that pot and run?"
"My wife's having a baby," I said.
Everyone laughed.
"No, really, that was her on the phone, she's having a baby. I've got to go meet her at UMC."

Only regret I've ever had that was caused by playing poker: Not leaving the night that the El Cortez broke out the JACKHAMMERS to install the ShuffleMaster machines in the adjacent pit. I played for three hours, putting up with JACKHAMMERS. What on earth was I thinking? I'd never do that now. But I did it then.

word on that.
I'd say I go to 1 of 3 classes now. Used to be like 2 of 3 before poker.
For me it's the opposite.
Once I went to eat dinner with a buddy of mine after playing a round of golf, and met a woman who I'd be with for the next 4.5 years. It ended brutally and I'm scarred emotionally for life.
Damn, I wish I had just gone to Commerce.

I missed my son's high school graduation because I was in the middle of a $20 SNG. Actually, I don't have a son. Or $20. I don't even play poker, nor do I know what it is. Or where I am.
