Hi all,

I want to relate to you what happened at a bridge tournament I attended. I may alter some details on order to obscure identites.

I was in Malmo for the European Championships. I was good friends with Jane, one of the World's best players. She had a day off on Wednesday and had agreed to meet with me for a day trip to Copenhagen. I wanted to leave early to get as much sightseeing as possible, but she asked me to meet at her hotel from 12:00-12:30.

I waited in her hotel lobby at 12:30 but she did not show so I went up to her room and knocked on the door. No one answered and I knocked again. Her husband John answered the door and said that Jane was in the shower. I had clearly just woken him up, and he asked me to come back in an hour.

One hour later I came back, and after more delay we left at 14:30. Jane's national team had planned a trip to Copenhagen, so I got in the team minibus. On the way, they stopped off to stretch their legs. I stayed in the minibus, no one else did.

Jane came up to me and said

"John is very angry ith you. You should not have knocked on our door. You should have phoned from reception. He does not want to spend any time with you, please get out of the minibus and do not come with us".

I did not want to get in an argument, and was shellshocked, so I obliged and walked back to Malmo. Meanwhile, John was busy telling all the national team how rude I was, with the result that they all looked at me like I was the devil.

This had upset me very much. I realise that in a perfect world I phone from reception. I am only 21, with limited experience of dealing with couples in hotels! However, did my crime merit the reaction? Who is to blame?

As a supplementary question, what is the nationality of John and Jane?

your "friends" over reacted.

This is not the reason John dislikes you.

Who f***ing cares?

John is a dick.

Jane is weak for submitting to John's demands and not defending you and she is not reliable as she clearly forgot about meeting up with you.

btw - This will fester unless you confront both of them about it. Otherwise, you can kiss your frienship goodbye.

Unless there are some big details you're leaving out then John and Jane are not the kind of people I would ever want to hang out with again. Jane set a time to meet with you and then either forgot about it or ignored it. You then did the first thing you thought of in order to get a hold of Jane by going to her and John's room. If you woke John up and invaded his privacy he should be upset with Jane, not you for breaking your meeting and bringing the situation to a head in the first place. If John is truly that upset, he could have talked to you about it, not sent over Jane and badmouthed you to a large group of strangers.

Then worst of all, Jane asks you to get off the minibus and walk home. Are you kidding me? This is utterly inexcusable and incredibly rude. If any supposed friend of mine ever kicked me out of a vehicle and forced me to walk home I'm fairly certain I would never talk to them again.

I'm male. I just play online as partygirl for EV. Get chatted up a lot :-) BTW this was at the European Championships so you can assume they are European.

okay, no married woman really has any male friends. Only guys who want to bang her. She lets them hang around because it makes her feel wanted and give her the attention she needs.

If you really think she's a friend, ask yourself this - in how many situations could you conceive of where she would defend you or choose you over the side of her husband's?

None, right?

She's not your friend - she's an attention whore. And her husband is right to want you out their freakin' lives - but he's too much of a pussy to tell you so.

I think you've been in the porn industry too long, dude. This is sometimes but not always true, and there are a few notable exceptions.

I think the guy was a dick, but whatever, I've never been to Europe, I don't really know. I probably would have beat him up and tried to nail his wife. Can you tell what nationality I am?

Sounds like losing them won't be much of a loss.

Relationships between sexes where the husband is mad at an outside guy usually have something sexually weird going on. Sometimes on the part of every person. Sounds like neither of those two could handle friendships outside the marriage, and maybe this isn't the first time they've played off outsiders to bring themselves together. They're don't sound like very stable or healthy people. You're probably well rid of them, sooner the better.

Here is a big part of your problem. If you had supple breasts you do not get told to come back in an hour or kicked off the bus.

This makes some sense. Using it for two plus two does not. Maybe you have some transgender issues.

idiotic? I'm not saying amerians couldn't be rude or asses in this situation, but I don't see americans standing on ceremony or protocol (should have called from reception). especially not card player types. and if you aren't prepared to make stereotypes about different nationalities, germans especially, you need to get out of the house and see the world. and let me also point out that despite being an idiot, I nailed the essential point that it was a guy.

please elaborate, in "many ways".
