Yeah this game looks kiddy but it's fun as hell. Funner than Burnout 3 maybe. Way funner than GTA. Anyone else like the R&C games?

I haven't played up your arsenal but its getting great reviews and I'm thinking of checking it out. Is it really as good as its hailed to be?

IMO, yeah. But I would say, if you aren't completely sold and your PS2 isn't online, get the 2nd one (Going Commando). The gameplay is very similar and it's half the price ($20 vs. $40).
But don't get the 1st one, it doesn't have weapon experience, a super-satisfying feature. I mean, the 1st game is still really fun...but the 2nd one is better, and it's the same price.

Definitely worth a rental, at the very least.
