If Don Rumsfeld retires Paul Wolfowitz should take his place, right?

Wolfowitz won't get it given the criticism of him being a spearhead for the Iraq war.

It would likely be one of the three of Condi Rice, John Danforth (former Senator and current UN ambassador), or John McCain.

Give it to McCain.

[/ QUOTE ]That's freakin' scary. Condi Rice is smart, but not military. And McCain is a left-wing nutjob, regardless of which party he belongs to. I don't know that much about Danforth?

What about Tommy Franks? I don't think McCain would want to work for Bush.

Danforth is a former Senator from Missouri and an Episcopal clergyman. Much more moderate than the current attorney general, though. A good man.

He won't take it for fear it will mess with his chances in '08.
