I'm watching CBS's coverage of the election. One guy is showing the scenarios and how important Ohio is and stuff, and he points at Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin, and says "some say Kerry is going to have to draw to an inside straight in order to win this thing."

Yea, this has been said by James Carville, Dan Rather and Tom Brokaw. There is also another thread on this topic. Weird.

on CNN, James Carville just said that Kerry is drawing to a double inside straight

I guess it's more of an A7 on a 345 board rather than a QT on an AJ8 board

It's not. Although I heard it during a FOX Baseball broadcast.

it was a stupid "joke" but I just meant that A7 on a 345 board sucks while QT on an AJ8 board is good

On Sky News early on in the coverage one of the commentators said neither has a flush hand yet.

At least no one said anything about mechanics. They're apparently everywhere.

If you could have slid in a joke about Wall St. running the country that would've been the icing on the cake.

At least he didnt use the term 'All In' for anything. Nothing annoys me more than some idiot yelling "All In!!'

Yea, Dan Rather said he would be drawing to an inside str8, had a lot of makers on the roulette table, and now it all rested on the roll of the dice...this was all in the same paragraph / thought process...talk about mixing the hell out of your metaphors....

No man, one of the guys on CNN said to another guy about his prediction: "You're all-in on the turn and hoping for the river card to make your flush."
