In my opinion you went into call down mode too quickly that hand, the flop raiser probably has a nine with an overcard. He definetly doesn't have an overpair (unless he's getting tricky with AA), but even then, a 3-bet is good to get information. 3-bet the flop, if it's capped, either lead out the turn and if raised then call down or just check call down if capped on the flop.

But the way you played it, MP3 could be betting anything from A9, K9, A4 (thinking you didnt pair) any pocket pair 22-99 including sets and including bare pairs thinking you have overcards.

I agree, 3 bet the flop to see where you are at and also for value. Other than that, you played it fine on the turn and river imho.
